"Digital expands and outlines 2002 Nintendo GBA release schedule revealing GTA 3 Advance for Q4"

Digital Worldwide Ltd, the new Sheffield based publisher, today announced their exciting 2002 line up which focuses on the apidly growing GBA format. Including within the line up is GTA 3, one of the most-wanted titles on the Nintendo handheld format.

Commentating on the release schedule, Digital Worldwide Managing Director, Barry Hatch said: "These are fantastic titles and we couldn't hope for a better start to the year. Not many publishers can boast such a great line up of original and licensed GBA product. We're kicking off Q2 with two major franchises licensed from Destination Software Inc; Medal of Honor Underground and Tiger Woods PGA TOUR Golf. With our own title, Pinball Advance, developed by Rebellion Software, and the Take Two Interactive title, Smugglers Run, again licensed from Destination Software, all launching before the Summer, we are confident that we're on our way to becoming well known for quality GBA product which appeals to the more discerning GBA gamer who is perhaps slightly older. We have always believed in the longevity of this format which is evident from our release schedule; we have committed significant resources to bring these major titles to the ever-growing number of GBA enthusiasts."

He added: "The release schedule looks strong throughout the year but I guess the big one that everyone is talking about is GTA 3. We've already seen this listed as the most wanted GBA title at retail and we're privileged to have it in our release line up. Originally planned for Q2 now in Q4 the delay has ensured that we can do justice to one of, if not the, best video game title ever. We will not disappoint."

At the same time as releasing news of their line up Digital have also announced that they are expanding to include a marketing function. Digital have enlisted the help of Mark Mattocks who has recently created his own marketing consultancy company, mrm consulting. Mark will head up a support team to service Digital's rapid growth and maximise the high-calibre releases.

With a 15 year career specialising in consumer marketing, Mark has significant games industry experience having held various senior marketing positions with developer and publisher, Gremlin Interactive. More recently Mark spent two years in the New Media industry launching Ananova, the world's first virtual newscaster, with the Press Association, and subsequently working for telecom giant Orange. Mark's new company, mrm consulting, is currently working with clients in the new media, telecoms and sports marketing industries.

Mark commented: "I have known Barry Hatch for many years and it's great to see the way that Digital is progressing. For a new publisher, only in their second year, they are doing extremely well and have a great outlook for their business. They seem to have skipped the first few years that most companies take to establish themselves and have jumped straight into the big league. I'm sure that with my experience, together, we can take Digital to the next stage and create further sustained growth."

He added: "Keeping to the Digital model and working only with experienced professionals who can hit the ground running, one of my first tasks has been to create a marketing support network for Digital. Due to the impressive release schedule I have immediately enlisted the help of Bastion - the media communication specialists, The Source - the well-known design and
marketing specialists and Miller Advertising - specialist media buyers. The result is that Digital is now armed with a complete marketing solution. With all our industry experience we are all looking forward to working together in the year ahead."
